Data protection provisions (website)
These data protection provisions govern the processing of personal data when visiting the websites of audifon GmbH & Co. KG (‘audifon’ or “we”) and the interaction of users*) and users (or ‘you’) of these websites. This privacy policy applies only to content on the audifon servers and does not include websites linked to the audifon websites.

2. Data processing when visiting the audifon websites
a. Log data (server log files)
When you visit our websites, server log files are automatically created. These contain, among other things, the name of the page accessed, the date and time, the URL accessed, the language and version of the browser, the operating system used, the type of device (mobile/desktop), the amount of data transferred, the access status, the referrer URL, the IP address and the requesting provider.
Purpose of data processing and duration of storage
We use this data exclusively for statistical evaluations, for operational security and to optimise our websites. For these purposes, the IP address must be stored in full during the session; afterwards, it is stored in truncated form.
Legal basis for data processing
The storage of log files serves in particular to safeguard our legitimate interest in ensuring the functionality of the websites in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
b. Use of cookies
What are cookies and how do we use them?
Cookies are small text files that are transmitted to your computer from the internet together with the data you have requested. This data is stored there and kept ready for later retrieval.
Our websites only use technically necessary cookies (e.g. session cookies for functionality), which do not transmit any personal data to third parties. Functional cookies are valid for the duration of your visit to our portal (= so-called session cookies). This means that they are automatically deleted when you close your browser. They are not linked to personal data and no conclusions can be drawn about a user's activities.
Purposes of data processing
audifon uses cookies solely for the purpose of ensuring the functionality and operation of the website.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. audifon's legitimate interest lies in optimising and improving the performance of its websites.
c. Integration of YouTube videos
Our website features videos from the YouTube platform provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When you visit pages with embedded videos, no connection to YouTube is initially established. Instead, we show you a placeholder. Only when you actively click on ‘Load video’ or ‘Play YouTube video’ and thereby give your consent will a connection to YouTube be established and data (e.g. your IP address, cookie information, information about the video accessed) be transmitted to YouTube/Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google LLC has an adequacy decision (Data Privacy Framework certification) and processes the data there.
The legal basis
is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. For data protection reasons, your consent is not stored for future visits; each time you visit the page with YouTube content, you will be asked again whether you want to load the video. For more information on data processing by YouTube/Google, please refer to Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
3. Data processing during user interaction
a. Contact via email or contact form
Data collected and purposes of processing
If you contact us by email or via our contact form, we will process the personal data you voluntarily provide (e.g. name, contact details, content of your enquiry and e-mail address) in order to process your enquiry.
We store your contact details in our customer database if this is necessary to process your enquiry or to initiate or execute a contract. This also serves to document communication and maintain our business relationships.

Processing is based on:

Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, if your enquiry is aimed at initiating or executing a contract,

Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in efficient communication with business customers and interested parties.
Storage period
Your data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to process your request. If there are legal retention obligations or a contractual reference, we will store the data in accordance with the legal requirements. In addition, we will delete your data as soon as you object to its processing or the purpose for the respective processing no longer applies.
Disclosure to third parties
Personal data is disclosed to third parties exclusively within the scope of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR, e.g. to our hosting service providers. The data is processed within the EU.
b. Contact by telephone
If you provide us with your telephone number and expressly consent to being contacted by telephone in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, we will use it to inform or advise you by telephone.
You can revoke your consent at any time without giving reasons with effect for the future by notifying audifon GmbH & Co. KG, Data Protection Officer, Werner-von-Siemens-Str. 2, 99625 Kölleda, Germany, or by emailing datenschutz@audifon.com. Revocation does not affect the lawfulness of previous data processing.
Transfer of data to third parties
Data will not be transferred to third parties who are not service providers of audifon within the scope of order processing. Personal data is transferred to website providers within the scope of order processing. Data is not transferred to third countries.
Customer database
The data collected within the scope of the following contact options is stored in the central customer database and used to contact the user – provided consent has been given – within the scope of further individual customer care tailored to personal needs. If you consent to being contacted by telephone, please also read the information on ‘Contact by telephone’.
Revocation of consent
You may revoke your consent to the collection and further use of your personal data at any time without giving reasons by sending a declaration to audifon GmbH & Co. KG, Data Protection Officer, Werner-von-Siemens-Str. 2, D - 99625 Kölleda, Germany, or by email to datenschutz@audifon.com. Revocation does not affect the legality of previous data processing.
Individual contact options
audifon processes the personal data provided by users at the following points and for the following purposes:
Newsletter
When ordering the audifon newsletter, the email address of the person placing the order is requested as mandatory information. The other possible details (title, first name, surname, company, customer number, position) are optional.
After submitting the newsletter order, the subscriber will receive a confirmation email at the address provided. The subscriber must click on the link contained in the confirmation email in order to receive the newsletter in future. This confirmation ensures that the subscriber is the owner of the email address provided and agrees to receive the newsletter.
The data is collected on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR for the purpose of sending the newsletter to the customer and documenting audifon's authorisation to do so.
The consent given can be revoked at any time with future effect via the ‘Unsubscribe newsletter’ link, which can be found in every newsletter e-mail.
General contact enquiries
Users can also send general contact enquiries to audifon. For such contact enquiries, the user's first name, surname and email address are requested. The other possible details (company, street, postcode, town, telephone, fax, mobile, department, your message) are optional.
The data mentioned is collected for the purpose of processing the user's enquiry.
4. Your rights and contact details
In accordance with Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, you have the right to:

Right to object Art. 21 GDPR
You have the right to object to the processing of your data for reasons arising from your particular situation, insofar as we are authorised to process data for the purpose of safeguarding our own legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. In the event of an objection, we will no longer process the personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint
Under Article 77 of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority for data protection regarding our processing of your personal data. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority at your usual place of residence or at our company headquarters. At audifon, no automated decisions are made in individual cases (including profiling) in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR that have legal effects on you or similarly significantly affect you. You therefore have the right not to be subject to such a decision.
